When aiming to lose weight or build muscle or doing both at the same time, keeping track of your weight using the scale can be insignificant. Most people rely and look up to the scale too much giving it power over them when in fact it is just a very simple tool that does not take everything into account. We have to look at progress from a different overall perspective. Sure the scale shows us our weight at any given moment but is this our actual weight ? Also does this represent progress by taking the correct factors into account.
The scale does no show our successes but just a number. You could have lost 10 kg of fat after months of weight training and exercise but the scale could stay the same at the weight you started beforehand. This is because you lost fat and gained muscle instead and just because the scale could have stayed the same you more than achieved your goals. Weight fluctuates during different timings of the day and certain periods in your life, water weight is subjective and does not mean you have lost fat.
Tip: Instead of giving the scale the authority, also base your results on how you look and feel as the scale does not always give an accurate indication on the full and true story.
